Well, I finally made it to Le Mans! I cried like a baby when the cars rolled out for Thursday morning quali. These crappy iPhone photos aren't much to write home about, but I feel they captured a side of the weekend the professional photographers and the TV crews can't.
Travel Destinations Flexotel village, great solution for people coming from abroad or those who are sane and don't want to camp.

I'd be interested to know how much the weekend cost. I see the Flexhotel pricing, but am not sure what it includes. If you ever have a partially itemized trip cost, you'd be helping some people that really want to go to Le Mans someday...

$765 per person for the Flexotel, general enclosure ticket, and grandstands ticket. If you call TravelDestinations.co.uk they are extremely helpful and will cater your trip to you exactly. They can even book you flights, train tickets and a rental car.

Thanks! So you get transportation to Circuit de la Sarthe, then pay $765/person and you're in? No discount if you sleep in the same bed?

Is there a way to avoid camping at reasonable cost? I'm thinking of a place to sleep that one could lock, that lets me charge a phone/camera/etc. and a bathroom.
Nice pics, it looks like the stories of the Brits invading Le Mans every year a true.

If you're comfy with literally laying ontop of someone in a twin bed go for it, but I don't think they offer that package haha

So the Flexhotel that I stayed in had proper beds, outlets, locks, 24h security guards, and clean showers and bathrooms. Your other options would be hotel in Le Mans which would require you to take the tram to the circuit every day and would be a lot more costly and from what I've heard not pleasant or a chateau which you would want to book like yesterday.
If you look at the cars in the Flexotel parking lot you'll see how unlikely you are to have something stolen.

Aside from the parking lot art, what did you think of the Travel Destinations digs? We gave them serious thought, but roughed it in exchange for more time in Paris.

Orrrrr, you could do what we did last year and try and sleep in the grandstands. It wasn't pleasant, but we lived. I also bought a 10000 mAh battery charging pack and brought it with me. Plenty of power for the race.

Shhh I snuck up there to see the end of the race!
The TD set-up was truly fantastic. They really had everything you could want; decent beds, safe, provided toiletries, clean showers, nice staff, Radio Le Mans radios, and good breakfast. The only thing I can imagine being nicer is a chateau.

Well, honestly, I need a bathroom. Like seriously, not being able to shower for more than 24 hours and no access to clean, unmolested toilets drives me insane. While I'm sure I would survive, it would take most of the joy from being at Le Mans and turn it into distress, and that sucks.

the bathrooms behind the main grandstands were scary for sure. Vendor village facilities were much better.
